# Phishing Awareness

### **Official Broadcast Email Communications**

Phishing is a type of scam where someone pretends to be a trusted company to trick you into clicking a link, sharing login details, or providing payment information. Shopify store owners are common targets, and scammers may impersonate theme developers like us to make their messages appear legitimate.

Please be aware that the **only official email address used by the Presidio Team to contact merchants is:**

[**broadcast@presidiocreative.com**](mailto:broadcast@presidiocreative.com)

Our team will **never** contact you from an email address ending in `@gmail.com` or from any other unofficial email address.

We are aware of fraudulent emails impersonating the Broadcast Team, including addresses such as:

[**broadcast.presidiocreative.com@gmail.com**](mailto:broadcast.presidiocreative.com@gmail.com)

These emails are **not affiliated with Presidio or the Broadcast Support Team** and may be part of phishing or other scam attempts. It is very important to not engage with them in any kind of way!

If you receive an unexpected email claiming to be from the Presidio Team, please verify that it was sent from [**broadcast@presidiocreative.com**](mailto:broadcast@presidiocreative.com) before responding, clicking links, or providing any information.

### How to Report a Phishing Email

If you receive a suspicious email, the best course of action is to **report it as phishing or fraudulent** and then delete it. Reporting phishing helps email providers identify and block similar messages.

**Gmail**

Open the suspicious email, click the three dots (⋮) next to the Reply button, and select **Report phishing**.

**Outlook**

Select the suspicious email, click **Report** in the toolbar (or right-click the message), and choose **Report phishing**.

**Apple Mail / iCloud**

You can forward the phishing email to [**reportphishing@apple.com**](mailto:reportphishing@apple.com), then delete it.

**Other email providers**

You can also forward suspected phishing emails to [**reportphishing@apwg.org**](mailto:reportphishing@apwg.org), which is used by the Anti-Phishing Working Group to collect phishing reports.

#### **Not sure if an email is legitimate?**

{% hint style="info" %}
**If you are unsure whether an email is genuinely from the Broadcast Team, please contact us directly at** [**broadcast@presidiocreative.com**](mailto:broadcast@presidiocreative.com) **and we will be happy to confirm its authenticity.**
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://broadcast.presidiocreative.com/support/phishing-awareness.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
